Property investment > investment
The Cyprus property market has largely been spared from the economic impacts of the credit crunch, it has been reported.
Due to annual capital growth and readily available credit facilities, Principal International claims that it is still possible for investors to see returns on property purchases despite the dire situations seen at present in many of the world's leading markets.
The opportunity for investment makes Cyprus a particularly attractive destination, according to the news provider, with the thriving tourism industry an added bonus.
According to Louise Hoade, director of Principal International, tourist figures for the first eight months of 2008 are highly positive.
She adds: "These figures indicate in comparison to the same period in 2007 that these figures have again bucked the trend and the tourism arrivals figures have increased.”
Cyprus is said to be one of the sunniest locations in Europe, with one of the continent's lowest crime rates – this latter point in particular a bonus for families seeking a destination for their summer holiday.
