The Daily Mail recently issued an article confirming that 3,600 new beths will be created in four new marinas around the island of Cyprus.
The marinas at Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos and Ayia Napa are the official points of entry with some existing harbours being upgraded or new marinas being built from scratch.
The Limassol marina will be the first to be completed at a cost of £115m, and is expected to be fully-operational by next year. It will boast shops, apartments and a park. The Ayia Napa marina is expected to be completed in 2010 and should attract the well-heeled clubber looking to enjoy the town's famous night life.
The article goes on to detail the other projects scheduled across the island. These are also very exciting with golf courses, roads, a university and commercial developments planned - all of which will be a real boost to the local economy and to the 60,000 British ex-pats already living on the island.
It should also significantly increase tourism to the island, and the developments are designed to attract the more affluent visitor, given the nature of the works being undertaken at present.
