Tourism figures just published by the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus should bring some New Year cheer to those who own buy-to-let property on the island, or are thinking of investing.
A total of 1,542,516 holidaymakers arrived in Cyprus during January-June 2006, a 0.1 per cent increase on the same period for 2005. Happily, the revenue from tourists for the same period is estimated to have increased by 3.9 per cent, when compared to the previous year, from £4.23 to £4.39 million.
Of those arrivals, 44.3 per cent were from the UK, 17.1 per cent were Greek, 5.6 per cent German, and 4.2 per cent from Russia. |
