A newspaper has hailed Cyprus as a prime holiday hotspot, praising our stunning beaches and rustic appeal.
The Gulf Weekly says that the island's history and its 360 days of sunshine each year are attracting hoards of tourists who come both to laze on the beach and explore the ancient ruins.
Calling the island a "prime holiday destination", the newspaper adds that its growing popularity was also tempting many to consider buying holiday homes there or retire to the area permanently.
It adds that must-see towns include Paphos with its fort and harbour which has been named a Unesco World Heritage site.
Recent figures show an increase in the number of people heading here with both Larnaca and Paphos international airports reporting a rise in passenger numbers.
Jenni Fernando, manager marketing for Hermes Airports which runs the hubs, said: "October was another good month for passenger traffic at both Airports as we approach the end of the summer season." |
